Dear Sheng-Hsi,

After many debates, and many hours spent reading and re-reading 2,608 applications while huddled around a boom box, the jury has managed to reach a decision. Though we quite like the song by Jimmy Smith, we'll never grow too old to dream - which is why we were so inspired by so many of the applications that we received. From Cuban MCs to Austrian electronics specialists: this year's applicants are not just sitting in their bedrooms dreaming. They are out there turning soundwaves into whole musical movements.

That's why we are extremely honoured to invite you to join Term One of the Academy in Toronto, September 23 - October 05, 2007.
